A historical journey through the evolution of military science and technology for the construction of the fortresses of Palmanova, Gorizia and Gradisca d’Isonzo.
The Venetian engineer Giulio Savorgnan for Palmanova, the scientist Leonardo Da Vinci for Gradisca d’Isonzo and the engineer, mathematician and astronomer Edmond Halley for Gorizia will tell the main technical solutions adopted in the construction of their respective Fortresses.
A lady from the late 19th century will accompany us on a journey of visits and knowledge between the Castle of Gorizia, the Fortress of Gradisca d’Isonzo and the UNESCO Bastions of the Fortress City of Palmanova.
A journey made up of 12 short narrative videos that tell, through images and dialogues, these three places, the evolution of the construction techniques of defensive fortresses from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. A tourist and educational journey that is always open and free between the three cities of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
