Civic Historical Museum – Info Point

The Civic Historical Museum is the pivotal starting point to learn about the history of the city and to understand the evolution of its complex fortified urban structure. The collections, housed in Trevisan Palace, constitute a narration through original documents, drawings, weapons, armor, and memorabilia of the various eras of strength: Venetian, Napoleonic, Austrian and Italian.

Among the curiosities of the Venice period, there is a 17th-Century treasure chest of the Palmanova Chamber of Finance: a valuable handmade artifact made of oak covered with resistant iron plates. The opening of this chest is regulated by a combination of sixteen movements hidden in the decorated frames of the lid.
